On Inkshares Horror Novel

Have you guys heard about this? I recently heard about a crowdfunding site called Inkshares. It’s basically Kickstarter or Indiegogo crossbred with Createspace or Lulu. It looks like a site where you can crowdfund a novel that will have an ebook and physical presence in bookstores. Unlike Kikstarter or Indiegogo where you give them thousands of dollars and then the writer keeps a percentage and has to then hire editors and distributors, Inkshares does all of that. So if a project is successfully funded at Inshares, it includes a professional manuscript editor and distributor.

I had no idea how any of this works, so I figured I’d dive in and take a look see with my current manuscript. I’m working on a 90 thousand word novel about three strangers entering the witness protection program when they accidentally thwart a serial killer. They’re relocated to a new state, but their new home brings them into contact with horrors beyond imagination.

You can find the Inkshares page, along with fun FAQs and whatnot, and back this project here are: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/horror-novel

Thanks so much for your support!

On new book contract

Quick update today: I just signed the contract for Backwatch Lane (Demonic Survivors, Book Three). The series follows sullen high schooler Cody Langdon, who moves to Florida to start over after a gay bashing and discovers a world of supernatural horrors. Backwatch Lane is schedule for release June, 2014 from JMS Books. More coming soon.

And in the meantime, check out the first two books in the series, Tanglewood Road and Clearclay Park.

This is Elliot Arthur Cross wishing you happy reading.

On Possessions of the Dead contract

Quick update today (partly because my A key is sticking). I recently signed the contract for my 13k word M/M horror story Possessions of the Dead.

Short blurb: When college junior Alex Corrigan subs for his favorite professor, he falls for a handsome freshman who gets him involved in a local ghost story. Rumor is anyone who takes something from an abandoned cabin in the woods will be cursed. Alex assumes it’s nonsense, until the frightened freshman shows up at his door needing help. Is the curse just an urban legend, or is there more to the story?

This is Elliot Arthur Cross looking forward to release day in February, 2014.

On The Invisible Gay contract

Hi all. I wanted to share my latest book contract signing news. Just today, I got the contract for my wonderful publisher JMS Books to publish my 23,000 word M/M erotic novella The Invisible Gay.

This is a fun, sexy, voyeuristic, retelling of HG Wells’ classic The Invisible Man set on a modern college campus. This was a lot of fun to write, and I can’t wait for its release in January. Much more coming soon.

This is Elliot Arthur Cross wishing you happy reading.

On a Christmas contract

Quick note today. I recently signed a contract with JMS Books for a M/M Christmas story I wrote, entitled Away For the Holidays.

Christmas is slowly becoming a reminder of everything homesick college freshman Shane Sanderson is going to miss out on. Even when he meets his roommate’s handsome friend, Corey, his mind is stuck back home. What will it take for Shane to feel like he isn’t away for the holidays?

This is Elliot Arthur Cross looking forward to December 15.

On Turbulent Strangers contract

You’re hearing it first, gang. I recently signed my seventh contract with JMS Books for a short thriller entitled Turbulent Strangers. Look for it January, 2014. Almost wrote 2024, which would mean the hype machine was starting a little early.

When Winston, a photographer going through a mid-life crisis, is guilt-tripped into attending a friend’s wedding, he embarks on a late night road trip. After picking up a sexy young hitchhiker, Winston finds himself in a fight for his life.

This is Elliot Arthur Cross wishing you all happy reading.

On my Clearclay Park contract

Announcing my newest contract from JMS Books. Clearclay Park is my roughly 40,000 word paranormal young adult sequel to Tanglewood Road, which is scheduled for release May 23. Nobody likes waiting years for sequels, so I worked immediately on the second part in the series so my reads will only have to wait a matter of months. You’re welcome.

In other news, Bates Motel received 4.6 million viewers on Monday, setting records for A&E. I told you it was going to be a big hit.

This is Elliot Arthur Cross sharing good news (mostly the book contract, but the TV stuff is cool, too).
